Food Ireland Wholesale has its origins in a retail bakery store that had been in operation in the Bronx since the 1980's.
In 1992, the new owners of the store started to expand its selection of products offered to its ethnic Irish customer base.
Ssourcing quality food brands from Ireland proved difficult and attention was turned to importing the products directly.
The first container of food products from Ireland arrived in the spring if 1995. Other retailers in the New York area asked if they could buy some of the imported products and a new business was born.
The import business separated from the retail store to concentrate on importing specialty food products from Ireland and the UK.
In 1997, we moved in to our first warehouse located at Bullard Ave in the Bronx. Three years later, we moved to a bigger location and then to our current location back in 2004.
Since then we have expanded our operations year over year.
We supply over 1000 business directly across the United States.
Our core customer base are independent specialty food stores, specialty food distributors, supermarket chains and food service accounts such as bars and restaurants.
Through our network of customers, our products can be found in over 10,000 points of distribution in the US
We have over 100 vendors , the vast majority are based in Ireland and the UK, who supply us with over 2500 items.
Our warehouse holds ambient, refrigerated and frozen foods. We employ state of the art inventory management systems which allows us to have stock on hand when our customers need it. Due to the volume of stock we turn over, the stock we supply our customers is fresh from the manufacturer.
This allows us to service our customers in the US with the widest range of imported products like Donnelly Hams from Cookstown in Co Tyrone or Brennan's bread from Dublin or Barry's tea from Cork or McDonnell's curry from Louth.
All products are competitively priced and promotions run on a regular basis across all product categories.
